DECLARATION 18: "I focus on building my net worth."
According to Harv:
T. Harv Eker's Wealth File 13 states, "Rich people focus on their net worth. Poor people focus on their working income". "Net worth is the total wealth of an individual, company, or household, taking account of all financial assets and liabilities" (Oxford Dictionary). It is a measure of wealth. Individuals with high incomes don't necessarily have a net worth to match, and the reverse is also true. People are often wealthy because of appreciated investments, real estate or otherwise. Having a straight income without another source of investment decreases the potential for accumulating wealth. Wealth is measured by net worth and not by working income. Whatever you focus on expands your thoughts. Focus on keeping track of your net worth monthly. "Where attention goes, energy flows, and results show," Harv says—changing what you pay attention to will contribute to the degree of focus.
A Book in Time's Commentary:
Professionally: We have the ability to change the direction we are taking. This change will likely occur if we focus on what we want rather than what we don't want. To build financial independence, focusing on building net worth more than growing income is important. The tax rate will also be lower as the government looks at income, not wealth. In addition, income may not always be certain, as job security isn't always a dependable factor. Therefore, focusing on growing net worth is a wise way to build and secure an abundant and healthy financial future.
Personally: We are the ambassadors of our thoughts, so we need to focus on what we want. The ultimate measure of wealth is net worth, which can be turned into cash if/when needed. Although income is important, it is only a portion of the whole net worth equation. There are many ways to add to net worth, such as income, savings, investments, appreciating asset accumulation, and even passive income. Choosing a variety of sources provides more avenues to build upon.
Spiritually: You are constantly emitting a vibrational frequency by your thoughts, and the consequences will resemble a result in kind. By focusing those positive thoughts on growing your net worth, you have a greater chance of yielding expanding benefits. As mentioned above, where attention goes, energy flows. Keep focusing!
