The Review:
Over time, our minds become cluttered by many things, such as unresolved events of the day or even past memories. Even as we sleep, our mind continues to process information that has not yet been dealt with appropriately. According to author Tiffany Adams, decluttering the mind looks at this jumble of information. It seeks to file and help clear away this overabundance of "clutter" to reduce the possibility or even the likelihood of stress or panic.
Tiffany states that things that clutter your mind include toxic people, your surroundings, toxic habits, and the belief that you are "busy." Since the things we experience, how we learn, and our perceptions and belief are all stored in our minds, it is necessary to declutter your mind to give it a break.
Tiffany thoroughly assessed the causes of clutter, both physically and mentally, and possible solutions to prevent or eliminate the evolution of clutter. While the material covered was quite inclusive, I was not drawn to the style in which it was presented. The use of words and descriptions and the analogy choices are not pleasing to me, such as continuously referring to "your inner critic," claiming mental clutter "thrives," or discussing "why your new habit doesn't "stick." There is also advice to "obsess" over one worry, learn to "stress about one thing at a time," and even ways to "kill stress." I find the idea of "dwelling on negativity," or asking if there even is such a thing as "being busy," a little contrary.
However, I believe many people will find the layout of the chapters and completeness of the content helpful and the author's intent to find a way to help others sincerely.
The Recommendation:
Personally, I would not recommend Declutter the Mind as one of my top choices of books to read for someone looking to improve him or herself by decluttering the negativity in the mind. While many aspects within this book just do not appeal to me, I believe the read may appeal to others and may be beneficial as well. There is relevant content, and the topics themselves are helpful.

Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed by all the "stuff" going on in your life and the environment around you? Wouldn't it be a relief to find a source that could clear your mind and help you through various challenging situations?
The Relevant:
Declutter Your Mind was written by Tiffany Adams and released on December 3, 2019. Tiffany graduated with a degree in Psychology and has a passion for educating others about setting and achieving goals. As a born procrastinator, she was determined to find a way to overcome this challenge and work productively towards her goals. By writing about topics such as Declutter, she hopes to show others their goals can be attainable by changing their mindset, and with this book, by decluttering their minds.
The Rundown:
Our brains are the master of everything we do from our childbirth on. Our mind stores all of the input that is downloaded every day. This includes things we experience, how we learn, and our perceptions of what we have taken in. All of these stimuli are gathered in our brains, and if not processed correctly or quickly enough, it clutters our minds. Tiffany says we can give our brains a break by decluttering the mind.
Tiffany promises that if you read and follow this book, "You will have a more productive perspective, know what you want and how to get it, and have a more digitally and mentally organized inbox." Rewiring your brain requires effort, work, and motivation, and this starts with a choice; your choice. She also defines what mental clutter is and where it comes from.
Tiffany discusses negative thinking and how it is linked to mental clutter. What you think about ultimately defines your outcome, making it your reality. Stress and other mental clutter causes are also discussed, including the exhaustive effects of social media. Steps to overcome negative social media thoughts are included, and she questions whether your life is really "all that busy?"
Specific negative contributors to mental clutter are listed, including habits, being disorganized, and her favorite - the inner critic. Tiffany continues with ways to counter the negativity, such as enjoying some alone time, meditating, becoming more organized, listening to that inner critic, reframing your mind, and learning how to make positivity a habit. Tiffany recommends you "be your own best friend" and identify toxic relationships that should be eliminated. She also suggests ways to "kill stress," maintain trust, "beat" old habits, and shares reasons why your new habit doesn't "stick."
Tiffany wraps up the content by sharing words of affirmation that she finds helpful and provides her own confidence-boosting techniques. She also adds a final section to discuss digital clutter and why you "don't need it." Tiffany closes by sharing that after finishing the book, she hopes you "aren't afraid to be yourself, take care of yourself, and truly love yourself because that is all it takes to declutter the mind."

The Review:
The Lost Apothecary is an imaginative and intriguing mystery enshrouded with exhilarating content. We are first brought into the dark and sinister world of Nella. Author Sarah is prolific in her description, and we can feel the excruciating pain Nella experiences as the evil actions she ensues are rotting her from the inside out. Her character and behavior development are slowly laid out until we have a complete picture of the evolution of her current status, including from her childhood to her present day, in February 1791. I particularly like how Sarah drew you into the inauspicious world of forty-one-year-old Nella Clavinger. Yet, a feeling of empathy and compassion for this woman develops immediately.
Twelve-year-old Eliza Fanning is a colorful and confident young girl who adds youthfulness and vitality to Nella's ominous persona. She is likable instantly and adds a twist to the initial darkness about Back Alley. She is a welcomed balance to the storyline and most definitely unexpected as the next name to be inked onto the infamous register. Sarah spent a befitting amount of time developing Eliza's history and experiences, leading to the initial meeting at the apothecary.
Sarah cleverly added a present-day London aspect to the story, which introduces Caroline Parcewell on her 10th-anniversary celebration, yet alone. This present-day aspect gives flavor and dimension to the 18th-century opening storyline. It is insightful to picture all of the historical landmarks mentioned throughout the tale, both from 1791 and the present day. As represented above, Sarah also included a map of London and access to the " Apothecary of Poisons" list with ingredients and preparations of "Nella Clavinger" from early 1791. All these aspects are a fun way to draw you into the London tale, keep you turning pages until the last one, and create the desire for Sarah Penner to delve into a follow-up to The Lost Apothecary.
While the vivid language instantly transported me into this world, I found it peculiar that there were so many belly aches and stomach ailments throughout the pages. Other than that, I found it very difficult to pinpoint any critical aspects of this story. The Lost Apothecary is fun, dark, mysterious, and extremely enjoyable.
The Recommendation:
I would highly recommend The Lost Apothecary to readers interested in historical and mystery fiction genres and even those who would like to see women with a little edge. It is also a tale that appeals to readers who enjoy binding friendships and colorful and thought-provoking content, leaving them seeking more. The Lost Apothecary may also appeal to readers like me with an apothecary/pharmacy/chemistry connection, especially from a historical perspective. Somehow, this is always a little fascinating.

Imagine a story line with parallel occurrences spanning over centuries of time. What could possibly link three different women over two hundred years?
The Relevant:
The Lost Apothecary was written by Sarah Penner and published on March 2, 2021. This novel quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. Sarah Penner is a historical fiction author and a member of the Historical Novel Society and Women's Fiction Writers Association. In the late 18th century, women were virtually powerless in a society meant to oppress them. It is possible that some content may have been inspired by 17th century Guilla Tofana, history's most prolific and deadly female poisoner who helped rid women of their abusive husbands; over 600 of them to be exact!
The Rundown:
The Lost Apothecary begins back in early 1791 in London, with an apothecary, older than her years and the master of disguise, awaiting the next client with a dark and wicked secret. She has hand-selected the ideal remedy for the proposed series of events which would befall the husband of Eliza's mistress the following morning. The apothecary, Nella, has two simple rules. Rule #1: The poison must never be used to harm another woman. Rule #2: The names of the murderer and her victim must be recorded in the apothecary's register. The apothecary inherited the shop from her mother, who had an affinity for helping women and their maladies with benign herbal remedies. However, Nella's shelves are not only lined with nettle, hyssop and amaranth, but also with nightshade, hellebore and arsenic. And hidden under the ink strokes in the register are betrayal, anguish, dark secrets and vengeance. What could have possibly happened to shift the sands of time from good, wholesome and helpful, to dark, clever and wicked?
The pages turn into the present day and introduce a new character, Caroline, who is also undergoing a betrayal; the fresh knowledge of her husband's infidelity. Caroline embarks on a journey of self-discovery to unveil the truth about numerous realities in her life. While she had set aside her love of history and dreams of a Cambridge education in order to focus on her marriage and support her husband, she now finds herself alone in London...'mudlarking'.
The chapters continue to alternate between 1791 and present-day London, describing events which occurred in the same location yet centuries apart. The plot is rich with historical content, and while 'mudlarking', Caroline discovered the definitive item that linked the lives of Eliza, Nella and Caroline. Caroline's instruction from her guide was to search for an inconsistency of things; or an absence. "You must trust your instinct more than your eyes." Her discovery of the previously hidden artifact led her to the British Library, 3 Back Alley, the Thames River and at one point, her actions led her to being questioned by the authorities due to the extent of her corroborating discoveries!
Through the innocence yet carelessness of twelve-year-old Eliza, the breakdown of the facade began, eventually linking all three women. It was up to Caroline to uncover the secrets of the past and piece together the events of the deep, dark mystery unsolved in the annals of London history. What were these secrets? How did they unfold? How did Eliza play such a key role in the events that led to the association of three women and two centuries of time?

Continuously updating knowledge and skills is essential in both professional and personal life. Wealth File 17 states, "Rich people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know". T. Harv Eker says these are dangerous words: "I know that." If you're not as successful as you'd like to be, there is something you don't know. Change your thoughts from "know it all" to "learn it all." Poor people try to prove they are right. You can be right, or you can be rich, but you can't be both. Harv says if you are not growing, you are dying. If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. Knowledge is power. And power is the ability to act. Every master was once a disaster. Getting rich isn't so much about the money. It is about WHO you become. The fastest way to get rich is to grow you. The key to success is to BE-DO-HAVE. Success isn't a what; it's a WHO. This is trainable and learnable. Rich people are experts in their field. Learn from true masters. Hire a personal success coach. The more you learn, the more you earn. Harv concludes Secrets by suggesting you read at least one book per month. Recite the declarations aloud daily and read through Secrets of the Millionaire Mind monthly for a year. Professionally: While I may not agree with all of Harv's ideas and words, I do agree that learning and continuing education is extremely important to maintain a healthy career. As Harv mentioned, the more you learn, the more you earn. Knowledge is a key to advancement and promotion. The more you know, the greater your options in a job or position selection, flexibility, financial advancement, and job satisfaction. Create a learning plan. Define business goals of what is hoped to be achieved and make an actionable plan regarding how to support it. Set time aside each day to learn something new to enhance your understanding of your field or business. Technology is advancing rapidly, and you better be able to keep up, or someone else will pass you by.
Personally: Personal growth is the improvement of our skills, knowledge, and other personal qualities. This helps you to be the best self you can be and live a content and fulfilling life. This may involve a positive mental, physical, and spiritual transformation. This includes learning, as well as applying what you learned, and reprogramming your mind. Areas of growth include emotional, mental, and social skills, spiritual self, and overall health and well-being. Personal growth also leads to a more loving relationship with yourself and others.
Spiritually: Spiritual growth is essential for a better, happier, and more accordant life, free of fear and anxiety. In this process, you expel the incorrect concepts and beliefs and refine the insights into who you are and the world surrounding you. Through this, you reach a state of inner peace. You build inner strength, and your confidence grows as well. By removing limiting and negative thoughts, you allow positive and supportive energy to flow through every cell of your body. DECLARATION 21 (part 2): "I act in spite of fear. I act in spite of doubt. I act in spite of worry. I act in spite of inconvenience. I act in spite of discomfort. I act when I'm not in the mood."
According to Harv:
How do you respond when something makes you uncomfortable? You can only grow when you are outside of your comfort zone. T. Harv Eker teaches us to act despite discomfort. Any time you are doing something and feel uncomfortable, pat yourself on the back and say, "I must be growing." Comfort zone = wealth zone (cz = wz). Expanding your comfort zone means expanding your wealth zone. Harv reminds us that when there is a large container of something, say a liquid, for example, more liquid will rush to fill any space. The minute you get comfortable, you have stopped growing. Practice acting despite fear, inconvenience, and discomfort. Act despite everything that gets in your way. You are not your mind. You are much bigger and greater than your mind alone. You need to control, manage, and train it to work for you. That's the most important skill you could ever own regarding happiness and success. Train your mind! Start with observation. Consciously replace the non-empowering thoughts with empowering ones. Consider all of the declarations we discussed. Make a decision that your thoughts do not run you. You run your thoughts. Stay focused on directing your thoughts. You direct your mind. Harv references author Robert G. Allen, who discusses, "No thought lives in your head rent-free." You will pay for negative thoughts. Therefore, only entertain empowering thoughts. Exercise POWER THINKING! Everything is neutral. "Nothing has meaning except the power we give it," says Harv.

Professionally: Often, we get caught up in the comfort of our safe environment. This is secure, predictable, and.... mediocre. There is nothing wrong with this. But if we ever want to excel, move forward, grow, or advance, we need to allow ourselves to feel some discomfort. Let this be a guide to make some adjustments and try something new. Take another step in your business or career, or ask for something challenging. Make additional calls. Try something you may have been afraid to try before. Expand your mind, expand your thoughts, strengthen your feelings, then take some action! Ask yourself, what's the worst that can happen? "Shoot for the moon; even if you miss, you'll land among the stars," Les Brown.
Personally: This applies to all aspects of our lives. Not only in business but also in our personal lives, it is easy to become complacent. We must continually advance in faith, learning, relationships, and growing. Never stop learning. Push past the fear or discomfort and focus on growth. Continued learning leads to increased job satisfaction, improved self-esteem, an expanded network of friends and acquaintances, building character, a more colorful life, and increased earning and opportunity potential. We should strive to learn something new each and every day.
Spiritually: It is during the times of our trials and challenges that we grow the most. We don't just go through trials; we GROW through trials. Trials are inevitable. We should work to cultivate a positive attitude towards affliction. "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials" James 1:2. In other words, our outlook determines our outcome. How we perceive trials will inevitably influence how they impact us. Program your mind so when, not if, trials arrive, your thoughts are already programmed to productively and appropriately work through the situation with endurance, "Knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance" James 1:2. These challenges are all opportunities for spiritual growth.

According to Harv:
Wealth File 16 states, "Rich people act in spite of fear. Poor people let fear stop them". As T. Harv Eker has taught, thoughts lead to feelings. Feelings lead to actions. And actions lead to results. You must take real action to succeed. Fear, doubt, and worry prevent actions from happening. As Susan Jeffers, Ph. D. (1938 - 2012) has written, "Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway." Susan's book is filled with concrete techniques to turn passivity into assertiveness. She discusses the crippling effects of fear in her personal life and explains how she formulated a course of action to conquer it. "Whatever the fear, this book will give you the insight and tools to improve your ability to handle any given situation vastly. You move from a place of pain, paralysis, and depression (feelings that often accompany fear) to one of power, energy, and excitement."
Harv developed a program called The Enlightened Warrior Training Camp. He utilizes the theme of "Taming the Cobra." You can still take action despite fear. It is not the size of the challenge. It's the size of you. Train yourself not to be stopped by anything. If you are willing to do what is hard, life will be easy. If you are willing to do what is easy, life will be hard.

Professionally: Fear of failure is common, especially prevalent in our workspace. Fear of disappointing someone, whether ourselves or others, is another. Yet fear is an opportunity to proceed one step closer to your dreams. Use fear as a motivating factor to drive you toward your goals. Fear is an opportunity to grow into someone you are not currently. Thomas Edison "failed" 10,000 times. Or rather, as he claimed, "I've successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work". Fear simply lives in your head. Do not give it the power to control you. You can choose to empower your positive, optimistic muscles and overcome "fear."
Personally: Susan Jeffers says, "Remember that underlying all our fears is the lack of trust in ourselves." All you have to do to diminish fear is to develop more trust in your God-given ability to handle whatever comes your way. Take accountability for your life. As Harv says, if we reprogram our minds in a positive and supportive manner, our thoughts will reflect this, leading to feelings and appropriate and favorable actions. If our minds are already positively programmed, we can trust in our ability to handle all our circumstances through Him, who strengthens us.
Spiritually: Negative thoughts take away your ability to be effective and productive. They can rid you of your peace and happiness. Choose to think positively to exemplify more of what you want in life. Do not resist your ability to think and direct your thoughts. When we push through our fear, God honors our choice and walks with us. King David said, "I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me" Acts 2:25.

DECLARATION 20: "My money works hard for me and makes me more and more money."
According to Harv:
Wealth File 15 states, "Rich people have their own money work hard for them. Poor people work hard for their money." Harv says the more your money works, the less you have to work. Money is energy. Most people put work energy in and get money energy out. The goal is never to have to work again unless you choose to work. To win the money game, the goal is to earn enough passive income for your desired lifestyle, such as investments and business income. But you don't have to be physically involved in this type of income. Examples are rental income, owning a storage unit, etc. Without passive income, you can never be free. The key is to learn very early about passive income and apply this knowledge. In your mind, replace spending files with financial freedom files. Rich people buy assets, things that will go up in value. Poor people buy expenses, things that will go down in value. Rich people collect land. Poor people collect bills. So purchase real estate! Find one area to become an expert in, such as real estate, currency, stocks/bonds, etc. Then later, diversify. Rich people work hard, save and invest so they never have to work hard again.

Professionally: It is important to focus a lot of time on educating yourself. Read about investments. Change your focus from active income to passive income. Learning is a lifelong process and the key to success and more life opportunities. Let your vehicle be your university on wheels. While still earning an active income, brainstorm ways to add more passive income to your story. Consider commercial real estate, residential real estate, land, rentals, storage facilities, equity investments, numerous online businesses, and so much more. Get creative! Read, study, and watch educational resources to guide and inspire you to expand your income into the passive sector. Spending time and money on education is a wise investment guaranteed to produce fruitful results.

Personally: Using the money you currently have to make more money makes good sense. Or even using someone else's money to invest is very wise. This is known as leverage. Consider taking some money set aside for savings and utilizing it to build more capital. How about being "The Bank" for someone else's project with an interest return on your investment? Naturally, be very careful that a secure agreement is in place in advance. Find ways to make it work for you rather than let money set without adding value. Remember to always keep enough liquid for 3-6 months' worth of expenses in case of an emergency. Rober Kiyosaki takes it one step further to actually focus on passive income first. He says, "I'm a huge believer that starting out with just passive sources can be beneficial to your wealth-building because there are many years when you're going to have low or no active income."
Spiritually: Passive income doesn't just happen. It takes time, dedication, and life adjustments to achieve it. It is also important to enjoy every moment along the journey towards success. Wealth doesn't come solely from what we accumulate in our pockets. True wealth comes from feeling fulfilled and accomplished in everything we do.

Wealth File 14 states, "Rich people manage their money well. Poor people mismanage their money well." T. Harv Eker says the most significant difference between financial success and failure is how well you manage your money. You won't get any more until you show that you can handle what you've got. Perhaps you could build a passive income account and continually invest a little into it but never pull any out. Money changes will occur once you reprogram your mind and you can manage your money more appropriately. It is essential to balance money. Have an investment-only account but also set up a play account. It is also beneficial to nurture yourself. Sometimes you must spend in a way that feels "rich." This is designed to strengthen our receiving muscle. It is often easy to become a little too self-reliant. Be committed to having what you desire in life, and expect to work hard and be determined to get there. Keep a vision in sight every day of something to move towards. I have found this encouraging, providing purpose and motivation in striving towards a goal.
Personally: It is wonderful to be independent. However, routinely refusing the help of others may cause a falling away from a relationship. Sometimes accepting help may make you feel vulnerable or may lead to feelings of guilt. It is valuable to know that accepting help is not a sign of weakness. From there, I think about or write down as many possible solutions as possible. Sometimes discussing with a trusted friend or work peer helps give a proper perspective. And, of course, lots of rest and sleep time always provide clarity, as the body works best when not under duress. I am amazed at the new perspective a morning may bring. Once all of these steps are carried out, the issue has suddenly dwindled, just as my options for resolutions, and my ability for deductive reasoning, have expanded.
Personally: It is easy to become overwhelmed when problems arise. And they always will. How I handle problems is key to remaining peaceful, joy-filled, and in control. As in my business approach, when personal problems arise, I break them down and examine the possible solutions. I find it best to have close friends or family to share them with if the issue needs other perspectives. Breaking down the issues and thinking of the right thing to do for the best outcome often minimizes the negative impact of the issue at hand. And I have noticed that writing down steps to resolve the issue if it is a complex problem makes it much more manageable. If I need to resolve them step by step, making a list and checking it off keeps me focused, on task, and productive rather than worried and stressed. This positively charged energy drives me towards the possibility of many potential and successful resolutions.

We would not be growing if they weren't. When I see every challenging situation as an occasion to brainstorm for creative solutions, my business, as well as my character, have resulted in new, productive, and surprising resolutions. I focus on what I have and can do rather than what I do not have or cannot access.
Personally: I have often practiced the method of ready, fire, and aim, although my logic had been a little premature. Perhaps the "ready" part wasn't quite developed enough in the preprogramming phase. Professionally: While I have spent many of my employment years in the same field I am "good" at and educated in, I neglected some of my true talents. DECLARATION 7: "My goal is to become a millionaire and more."
According to Harv:
T. Harv Eker teaches that if you want to be rich, your goal is to be rich! Rich people play the money game to win. They are on offense. Poor people play the money game to "not lose." They are essentially on defense. It is more about survival or security. This is referred to as the power of intention. If your goal is to be comfortable, you will never be rich. Yet if your goal is to be rich, you will always be comfortable. Which goal closest resembles or aligns with your current situation? Is this where you want to be? Is this where you want to stay? Or, if you desire a new goal, what changes will you make starting today to align with this new goal?

Professionally: After becoming energized instantly upon reading the first section of Harv's book, I decided I had been aligned with the goal of being comfortable. It made sense to me that rather than having this as a goal, it would naturally be a by-product if I chose the goal of being rich. It made logical sense to "upgrade" my goal and reprogram my mind to start learning how rich people think. Another helpful aspect, along with reprogramming my mind, was the development of a Business Plan. With a detailed plan came clarity, understanding, and a vision.
Personally: I like the idea of becoming a "millionaire and more." I choose to align my thoughts, feelings, and actions with this goal and utilize the power of intention. Again, I am not fond of Harv's stereotyping of how rich and poor people think and act, yet the concept should shine through as a nugget to draw from.
Spiritually: I believe it is possible to retrain the mind to respond supportively regarding money and success and that energy is the key. The right kind of energy that is. The focus should be on positive energy; your thoughts will align in response to this favorable position. When we focus on good things, such as the fruits of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control - our mind and thoughts will be filled with peaceful, enlightening contentedness.

DECLARATION 6: "I create the exact level of my financial success."
According to Harv:
We have now reached Part II of T. Harv Ekers Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. He refers to them as the Wealth Files. You "need" files that support financial success. Harv says that you need to know how rich people think to become rich. You must be willing to let go of being "right." After all, it obviously hasn't worked! Would you rather be right or be rich? Harv teaches that rich people believe they establish their success in life. And poor people believe life happens to them. They may play the victim role with a "poor me" mentality. He states that poor people are good at blaming; blaming the economy, employer, stock market, parents, etc. Poor people also justify their poorness. Harv claims, "Anyone who says money isn't important doesn't have any." He says poor people complain, and they focus on it. Verywellmind.com suggests that positive thoughts may lead to positive results within a person's life, while negative thoughts may result in negative outcomes. It is based on the belief that thoughts are a form of energy and that positive energy may affect success in all areas of life, including health, finances, and relationships. Harv says that people with the victim mentality become a "crap magnet," and this negative energy is infectious. They get attention at the mercy of others. Harv's advice is to "take your power back!"

Professionally: I can look back at my financial career and see that during times of wavering and negative vibes, I unknowingly hindered further levels of success. There was a direct correlation between my negative energy, undesirable effort, and even unnecessarily difficult results. It is within my ability to choose a focused uplifted mindset. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I am now in control of my level of success, and I know where I want to take it. This frame of mind has led me down exciting and fruitful paths I never imagined possible. Acknowledge your own capabilities and put forth a positive effort to achieve your desired successful endeavors.
Personally: While I do not like stereotyping people as "rich" or "poor," as Harv does, I understand his concept regarding some situations. I see the "tendency" but would not stereotype everyone into either one category or another. It is easy to allow the circumstances I encounter to weigh me down. It is harder to rise above the challenges and obstacles, which always seem eager to surface, with a negative demeanor. However, it is worth the extra effort to capture and suppress negative thoughts, discover what's good and helpful, and perceive every situation as an opportunity to learn, grow and advance.
Spiritually: I have been told by a very beloved friend to "put your praise on" as I would drift to feeling like a victim. Each time I change my mindset to focus on being grateful for all the amazing things there are to be thankful for, my spirit and energy are lifted. My mind and attitude are elevated; thus, my day is filled with positive energy that continues spreading to others.

DECLARATION 5: "I observe my thoughts and entertain only those that empower me."
According to Harv:
A "financial thermostat" is your money blueprint. What is your financial thermostat set to? Are you happy where you are? Would you like to raise the temperature a little? Or would you like to find the boiling point?! T. Harv Eker teaches that "the only way to change your level of financial success permanently is to reset your financial thermostat." As discussed before, your income will only grow to the extent you do. Isn't it exciting to know that the temperature may be changed? One of the first steps, and a key element, is awareness. You must become aware of your entire financial situation...current status, how you got there, and why you may still be there. Put yourself under a microscope. What do you see? You are "ruled by" your past programming. Once you become conscious of this, you can see your programming for what it is. At this point, you can choose rather than respond. You may release any belief not conducive to your wealth or growth and replace it with something empowering to your success and well-being. You are then able to choose your thoughts wisely and carefully. "Nothing has meaning except for the meaning you give it," repeats Harv. You need to adopt rich and empowering beliefs, reprogram your mind, and allow this to be your new instinctive action/reaction.

Professionally: In my career, I have learned that the more I am aware of my thoughts and only focus on what's helpful, productive, or useful, the more my mind opens up to solutions, opportunities, and possibilities. Rather than limiting my options to a desk job or undesirable "boxed" position, I opened my mind to a new world of opportunities and intriguing possibilities. I chose an office space without walls and continue only to entertain fruitful ambitions geared toward growth and success.
Personally: I have allowed myself to become aware of my own thoughts and discovered how many were negative, critical, or based upon some form of fear...time constraints, circumstances, other people, etc. When I realized how many things or people had the authority to live rent-free in my mind, I ceased and assisted in kicking out all the unwanted tenants and replaced them with chosen, encouraging, success-based, and hope-filled thoughts.
Spiritually: Our minds are in constant motion. If they are programmed to default to negativity, our fruits will align with a pessimistic and constraining environment. But if we capture these thoughts and replace them with an empowering substitute, the cells in our bodies become positively energized, and we can favorably impact the people we encounter. Our energy is infectious, whether positive or negative, so we must choose the enlightened path. Be deliberate and spread love and positive energy to those around you daily.

DECLARATION 4: "I release my non-supportive money experiences from the past and create a new and rich future."
According to Harv:
Was there a specific incident in your past, maybe a marriage or divorce, that had negative financial consequences? Perhaps your spouse or ex-spouse spent more than you both had. Or even worse, he/she spent more than you had? What else may have caused a financial deficit, leaving an unfavorable impression? You can all probably think of a time when something like this occurred. This does not have to define you or how you think about money. Merriam-Webster defines disassociation as to detach. Negative financial experiences in your past have been programmed into the files of your mind. Without thinking or choosing your thoughts, a negative reaction may have already been programmed, determining your current actions. T. Harv Eker teaches that you have a choice right now to be different. You do not need to let the negative programming of your past determine your current or future actions. As you learned from the first blog, thoughts lead to feelings; feelings lead to actions. What determines your thoughts is your preprogramming. Therefore you need to reprogram your mind with new thoughts, which lead to new feelings. These new feelings result in new actions. So you can choose to be the captain of your ship and take charge of the sentry of your mind. This programming will drive you to establish a new and rich future with a positive correlation to money and wealth.

Professionally: I have often spent too much time in the business world focused on the financial outcome. Naturally, this is a desired outcome. However, this itself drew on pressure to obtain. By redirecting my focus to the processes I was completing and disassociating any negative connotation due to pressure, I could enjoy the journey and open my mind to new ideas, increase performance, and complete tasks quicker, all leading to even greater outcomes. The key was to disassociate the pressure from the process and proceed to succeed.
Personally: I have personally experienced many negative incidents involving money. It is amazing how many people believed my money should be theirs! I often wonder if others have felt this way. I chose to let go of these bitter feelings that were only hurting me. Once released, my mind was open to being filled with new thoughts that benefitted my success and productivity. I have become energized by such a calm and peaceful disposition.
Spiritually: It is best to let go of all negative and bitter feelings holding you back, whether it involves money or any unfavorable feeling in general. If you release all ties to them and free your mind to the powerful and rich essence it craves, your life becomes more useful to yourself and those you love, plus many more. You are able to be better, love, and serve more.

DECLARATION 3: "What I modeled around money was their way. I choose my way."
According to Harv:
T. Harv Eker discusses the idea of "modeling." What were people like around you regarding money? What were your parents or guardians like? How might this affect your financial life? Think about the decisions you have made regarding money. What led you to those choices? Harv tells you to "unlink your money motivation from the wrong sources...fear, need to prove yourself, etc." Instead, you must choose to install new links through purpose, contribution, and joy. You will live out that reality if you believe you are not enough. Modeling is defined in Merriam-Webster as a person or thing that serves as a pattern; to plan or form after a pattern. People who surround you have modeled money behavior your entire life. You have been preprogrammed. When you apply a negative connotation to money, the process of acquiring it, or the 'need' of it for the wrong emotional reasons, your mind is not always open to the endless resources you are able to access. When you reprogram your mind to see money as a way to advance in your position, family life, help others, and grow in your compassion for humanity, the mind begins to work in a more productive, powerful, and almost limitless way.

Professionally: T. Harv Eker has brought to light many deep thoughts I have never considered before. Professionally, I was told I should/will go to college, earn a degree and support myself on a salary. These are very safe and reasonable instructions, and nothing is wrong with them. However, they are very limiting and, for me personally, dissatisfying. While I have spent years in my doctor-degreed career, I have never been more content than I am now, exploring new avenues and utilizing the talents I have been blessed with. Now more than ever in history that I am aware of, we can develop all kinds of businesses utilizing our talents, bringing joy to our lives and families as we prosper. Sometimes it just takes a leap of faith.
Personally: I most definitely modeled the view of money based on my upbringing. We were always discreet regarding money; there was nothing wrong with that behavior. As I am continuously reprogramming my mind, I see a stable salary and a viable option. Still, additional doors and windows allow for multiple means of progression and success. I stopped focusing on the narrow tunnel before me and instead on what I enjoyed and where my talents and abilities lay. In doing this, I received peace, contentment, and knowledge of the Source of the blessings; my Creator. Through Him, all things are possible according to His will.
Spiritually: I choose to see money as a means of helping humanity. We are here to love, serve and help each other. And the obvious fact is that money makes it easier to do these things. Explore ways your kindness, compassion, and generosity may bless humanity.

DECLARATION 2: "What I heard about money isn't necessarily true. I choose to adopt new ways of thinking that support my happiness and success."
According to Harv:
Sometimes money is a difficult thing to talk about. Perhaps you were brought up to use discretion regarding this topic. Money isn't actually the root of all evil. Perhaps pride is a contributing factor? You are conditioned to think from your past programming. This is where your thoughts stem from. Verbal conditioning is powerful. It is a contributing factor to your money blueprint. You may consider retraining your mind to respond supportively regarding money and success. The 1st element of change is AWARENESS. How have you been conditioned? Were you told you were meant to struggle or that you do not deserve to have much? This could be a self-fulfilled prophecy. The 2nd element of change is UNDERSTANDING. Where does it come from? Have you allowed this to be? The 3rd element of change is DISASSOCIATION. You can choose to let it go and recognize that this is what you learned but is not part of your anatomy. And the 4th element of change is RECONDITIONING. You have a choice and need to rewire your subconscious on a cellular and permanent level.

Professionally: Understanding that money is a good thing and can be used in amazing ways to help others inspires me to work smarter to obtain it. I was previously satisfied with a salary and a cap on my value. Now I choose to understand I am capable of more, and I can even do more and give more with more. I am no longer timid or awkward regarding financial discussions and see the bigger picture regarding all the beneficial ways we can help each other increase wealth and build successful businesses.
Personally: I was conditioned not to talk much about money when I was growing up, and therefore accepted what I had been offered as a salary and kept quiet and content, so to speak. Now I see money as a tool to be shared for the wellness of humanity. I am not afraid to want and seek more. I know in my heart all the good I am able to accomplish with it.
Spiritually: I believe there is no reason for a shortage of money in this world. There is enough to go around for everyone, and for those who have figured out the key to obtaining it comes the blessing of reaching out to others. What a beautiful concept of "people helping people." While Harv speaks in terms of "deserve," I recognize that on a "righteousness" level, we all fall short of the glory of God. However, we are all given the same opportunity to set aside any degree of "self-reliance," put complete faith and dependency on God as our sole provider, and use our God-given abilities to prosper in ways that will help humanity.

DECLARATION 1: "My inner world creates my outer world."
According to Harv:
As T. Harv Eker states, "The only way to change our outer world is to first change our inner world." A powerful secret for change is to "declare" something emphatically, out loud. A declaration is a statement of energy, generally stated out loud. By making statements out loud, we are sending a powerful message through our ears as well as to our subconscious minds. This process allows the energy to flow through the cells of our body. And within this particular book, Harv calls us to touch our forehead and proclaim, "I have a millionaire mind." Harv suggests that you can feel its unique resonance by touching and vocalizing simultaneously. Declarations state an intention to undergo a particular course of action. Compare this to affirmations, which state something is happening that has not actually happened yet. Our minds know it isn't true at this time, and that doesn't always sit well. We must be willing to let go of some of our old ways of thinking, doing, and being. We cannot change the already-produced fruits, but we can nurture new ones.

Professionally: I have experienced that my career progress is hindered when I have a negative inner world. And also how declaring intentions out loud has lifted my spirits and transformed my energy, even to the degree that my business preparations have taken off. Before this, I thought about business ideas for months to almost a year. After declaring aloud that my inner world creates my outer world, it truly felt like my desire increased, and the mind "took notice" and sent positive energy, ideas, and resources into motion. My thoughts led to feelings, and my feelings led to actions, and a 20-page Business Plan was established in less than a week!
Personally: I had never really thought about the difference between a declaration and an affirmation until T. Harv Eker brought light to the difference. This may be an indirect reason why I was not prone to making positive affirmations. With declarations, however, I am stating an intention, and my mind is determined to follow through on what I am saying. This has been very effective in reprogramming the files in my mind. It may or may not work for you as well. But it doesn't hurt to try!
Spiritually: When I am at peace with my inner world, my outer world reflects it. I am able to see difficulties or obstacles as opportunities or possibilities. I trust that as I reprogram my inner world to have faith, confidence, and a gentleness about it, this calmness actually opens my mind up to more dependency on God for strength and to more possible solutions that a tense and worrisome mind would repress.

Professionally: I found the book difficult to set down from just the first few pages. I was drawn in on the reality that thousands of people have programmed my mind—that were not me! This really made me think and evaluate where I was in life and where I wanted to be, how I got there, and why I was stuck there! These thoughts inspired me, and I must admit, frustrated me, that I had allowed my preprogrammed mind to control most of my life! It was a light bulb moment, as well as a fire-under-my-feet follow-up. I haven't stopped moving since page one. I have since started the legwork for two new businesses, with the second one meant to help, support, and promote my first business.
Personally: I now believe I WILL be a millionaire, then a multi-millionaire, and I am confident I am on the right path for the first time in my life. I believe this book will be a changing point regarding finances. I have been working daily to reprogram my thoughts, and it is amazing how many "thank you for sharing"(s) I have had to say to my mind!
Spiritually: I have become aware of how I have been my worst and only critic.
